num2str() fails to convert a sum to a string. In the sum(1) example "syntax is incorrect", in the sum(4) example "n is not defined". Edit: This is now BTS issue SS-43 Edited by user 23 March 2014 14:00:09(UTC)

This is the current state. sum() now can produce symbolic results. num2str() should provide a string corresponding to the unevaluated expression if it cannot be evaluated. mkraska attached the following image(s): |
