I solved this equation:

http://www.fotosik.pl/po...ek/25a04e7a09ca7cc1.html using WolframAlpha (y is approximately equal 1,69)

and then I tried to solve the same equation using last version of SmathStudio (0.95.4594) by means of function "solve"

I know that function "solve" acts only in real numbers (in addition, I have arranged a maximum range of roots in Smath (from -1000 to +1000)) and I get a message "no real roots"... Why?

Hi loitzl9006,

functions solve(2) and solve(4) works for me, both with standard or custom range (see the attachments)

there may be an error in your function?
