I am using the latest version of Smath Studio & have seen many other threads on this forum regarding similar issue. I don't want to use xMaxima addin because of portability issue with Maxima distribution. If some however can provide a link to portable Maxima package it will be greatly appreciated

Coming back to the issue please see the attach file as my solve command for polytropic compressor calculations fails. Equations does include units ...from a preview (tooltip) of eq2 I see no problem but solve() throws error

You really don't need to use the solve function here as you already have an expression for power. Consider pre-defining eq.2 and simply evaluating it as needed as shown in attached. Page1.sm (10kb) downloaded 78 time(s).

Thanks for the great help guys. Much appreciated. Can I ask one more thing (because I have prior experience to Geogebra)

In my file lets assume that I want to see the effect of increasing T2 upon CompressorPower as well as Efficiency ....a graph will suffice! Back in Geogebra I would have created a list of T2 (from say 160 to 300 with 10 as increment) & would get the calculated parameters also in a list ...these lists will then be converted to coordinates (x,y via list to matrix manipulation) & will be ready for plot

Just like this => solve for n as many as you wish
Administrate the remaining of the project at will wrt those n

Cheers mon ami.
