Hi guys. Seeing how fast I got great and helpful answers yesterday, I thought I might ask another rather silly question. I am trying to animate a plot, and I have never done it before. I have made a simple sheet ploting V,M for a rectangular simply supported beam with uniformly distributed load. I have also plotted sigma and tau for the section, as well as Von Mises. I have tried to make 3D plots to show how stresses evovle through the length of the beam, and to some extent it illustrates that. I have also tried to animate a 2D plot, to work like a cross section that moves along the length of the beam, but I cannot figure out how to make it work. Any ideas where it went wrong for me? Also; is it possible to plot stresses along y-axis as opposed to x-axis? Thanks again spenninger bjelke.sm (31kb) downloaded 10 time(s).

I will try to plot about y-axis with the augment function. Surface 3D not saving settings explains a lot! I think I tried to save those settings at least 10 times before giving up. I will try to understand how plot animations work, and come back with a animated plot of my stresses.. Best regards, Hans Kristian.

Well, I got the animations to work. I guess the mistake was to try to animate on a variable named 't'. With a bit more tinkering I should be able to plot my stresses about y-y axis as well. Best regards, Hans Kristian spenninger bjelke.sm (33kb) downloaded 18 time(s).

Jean I find it somewhat funny my simple stress visualization sheet was something you deemed worthy of saving on your harddrive. Thanks, Hans Kristian

Mine actually managed this sheet in 1.2 minutes..
