How can we make the user defined function work?
Could anyone look at this?
I really want the first type to be used, I don't want to put everything in a line.
Since I have some more calc which involves loop and if condition, I hope I can get the result use one defined function.

You have to remember that a function of the variable x has the form f(x)= 2+x, as an example. what is in parenthesis is the variable (or variables) of the function. I attached your example. Defining exapl as d was just an extra step so I omitted it.
