Is anyone able to open the attached document in SMath?
I receive an error regarding a text region. Is there anyway to open this?

Thanks,
Ryan

If you use the "file" > "open..." option you should open the file. A dialog show you the errors importing the file, then all other things will be imported (see the attachment)

If in your xmcd worksheet there are things that are present in SMath Studio but are not properly imported post a message in the bugs & problems section of the forum, the author will improve the plugin Good

I am having a similar problem to RFreund. I converted all of my Mathcad 2000 .mcd files to Mathcad 15 .xmcd files. In that process I verified all converted files open and compute correctly in Mathcad 15. I then tried to open my newly converted files in SMath version 0.96 (build 4868). I tried about 20 different .xmcd files and every one gave me the same error message and did not open.

For every attempt to open a .xmcd file I was presented with an SMath Studio dialog box that states:

C:\path\filename.xmcd
Could not load file or assembly 'TextRegion, Version=1.9.4868.42191,
Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies.
The system cannot find the file specified.

My interpretation of the last line is that there is perhaps a file (DLL?) missing that is required for the conversion.
The About dialog box for my SMath installation lists SyLib, NuLib, canvas and ioman DLLs.

I can send an example .xmcd file if would be helpful in identifying the problem. Let me know.

You might try a more up to date distribution (e.g. the unofficial one, see my signature). At least, SMath Studio 0.96.4909 can read the file attached by you without problems. See attached .sm file generated from your file.

That did it! Now that the files load I can use the error messages to figure out which plug-ins I need to get the rest of the files working (mostly Maple, I think). Thanks!
