It happens on program start? After loading a worksheet?

As first step you can choose the "Debug" option and see if it returns a stack trace (list of code functions involved to some degree with the issue). If it happens copy and paste it here.

As second step, with SMath closed, open a explorer window and in the address bar type

Code:
%appdata%

then press return.

There should be a "SMath" folder, rename it as something else (f.e. SMath_backup) and try to start the program again.

Just so we are all on the same page, what scenario are you currently experiencing?
  1. This the first time using SMath (Just downloaded/installed it) and it does not work
  2. I have been using SMath, and today it just stopped working
    1. Were you informed "New Version Available" and you clicked to install?
    2. Did you just install a new plugin?
    3. Did you attempting adding/changing settings in the Program Folders (e.g., Units.xml)?

If possible, please list the SMath Version you are currently using/installed; answers may change depending if you are using the latest stable version, or a beta version, or a version before v1.00

Very good, then it was some extension messing up.

Since you are a fresh user you can probably delete safely the old folder (it contains the extensions downloaded for your account and their settings, as well as f.e. the output data of built-in file writing functions)
