Tiny, but powerful mathematical program with WYSIWYG editor and complete units of measurements support.

It provides numerous computing features and rich user interface translated into about 40 different languages. Application also contains integrated mathematical reference book.

Free for personal usage! Plans for Organizations are available!

Application can be easily extended based on your needs. Built-in Extensions Manager tool allows to get access to hundreds official and third-party resources of the following types: usage examples, plug-ins, SMath Viewer based applications, snippets, interface translations, interactive books, handbooks and tutorials.

Smath is a very simple program to use. It´s similar to Mathcad and it´s free. I use it for my spreedsheets at work. I recommend it, without a doubt. more...

Great work.

One question: What means "Beta version of the calculation service implemented"?

Best regards.
Alvaro.

Wow! I wondered what had happened to one of my favorite programs. It was silent for so long that I wondered if you were OK, Andrey. Glad to see you are still alive and coding. Clap

Andrey,
We all hope you and your team are safe and doing well. Thank you for continuing to update the program. Not sure if this is a bug, but I have NOT been on SMath in a while. I tend to use the portable version. Today, I ran the update (version 0.99.7921). and nothing. No updates. I decided to see what I've missed on the forums and HELLO version 1.0.8151. Essentially, the update from 0.99.XXX is not seeing the new 1.0.XXX version. Be blessed!

Hi I am having problems to install. I got the message "There is a problem with this windows installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact you support personel or package vendor" and when I click in OK button instalation ends without information about what DLL was the problem.
I am running Windows 10 Pro 21H2, compilation 19044.1645
Any hint how to solve?

As a civil engineer, over the years I have frequently used MathCAD for not only performing but also documenting calculations. With PTC dropping perpetual licensing, my recommendation to all the junior engineers I train is to give SMath Studio a serious look. While not a turnkey replacement for MathCAD, it provides most of the functionality and power at an incredible price. Already a wonderful program filling a key niche spot between a numerical calculator like Octave, and a CAS like Maxima, the expanding plugin and 3rd party development is on the rise and this project's future keeps getting even brighter. Much consideration must be given by any engineer or business before they settle on a software for adopting into the workflow. Although not open-source in the strictest sense, the development community is similar to what you would find in any first class OSS software project. The current owner of the SMath Project has also agreed to release the source code under open source license should he not be able to continue the project. So do not let the cost (your time) of learning SMath Studio and migrating your MathCAD computation sheets scare you. This project is here to stay. more...

Great software. Excellent tool for engineering students to make study of complicated problems a breeze. Time need to familiarize is very less as there are good guides prepared for easy use. more...

This is a great tool. Just like Mathcad. I'd encourage science/engineering students to use it. And you get a copy of your work. more...

Hi!

I just installed this version and I'm wondering, how does if-else work now? With earlier versions the statements were filled automatically (which was annoying if only if-statement was needed), but now it only fills for if-statement, and I cannot seem to figure out how to get the else-statement.

Best regards

Hi

Cool, else-if too, thanks! The solution did not seem to be documented or I missed it. I was looking for the little black square that expands matrices and similar.

Best regards

IMHO, I have never seen only if as it is not Bolean.
if/else ... if/otherwise are generally not interchangeable.
In program if/else on strictly numeric branching.
if/otherwise is a scalar function for plotting, integrator, solving ...
Cheers ... Jean if you wish more.

Under construction ...
... if/else in program.

"Word wrapping improved for TextRegion"

There is still an issue when using East Asia characters in Textregion:
You can only select all the characters in the text region;

But you can select part of the characters in the writer region.

Hello Andrey,

Updating from 1.0.8151 to 1.0.8238 broke background printing of smath document. I used to be able to copy paste the file onto one note page (for collaboration), right click on it and "insert as printout" (see screenshot). This functionality broke down with switch to 1.0.8238. I will stay at 1.0.8151 for now.

Cheers

Sasha
