Hello all. This is my case. It runs dramatically low. Can anyone give a hint for increasing speed? Or such a situation is normlal. Thanks. Postroenie polja riska.sm (149kb) downloaded 32 time(s).

Much different stuff ... you can shift another set,
as well as plot in a random filled square.
Too long to resume in my laptop.

Thanks. It is better to use a file for data transfer. By now I don t engaged in working with plugins. One would like to try main concept. But later they will be strong required.

You can always run SMath in a RamDisk (Significant speed improvement). I've started playing with this to speed up some computations, but most of my stuff is not plot intensive like the other Collabs. Just make sure you save your files to the disk or Poof, there goes your work

Thank you very much. By the moment I have not tried yet but I just did not know about such a trick as RAM DISK.

Ram Disk takes a portion of your RAM and "virtualizes" it into a drive. I'm using ImDisk which is free. Essentially, I've grabbed 4GB of my 16GB of ram and turned it into a virtual drive (in my case E:\). Once loaded, anything you put in there will now run at the speed of your ram. Gamers, Servers, dumps from databases, CAD, graphics intensive renderings (designers/3D virtualization) tend to use a variant of this. SDDs are fast enough for most, but this way there is no I/O to the disk. I also use this to compress/uncompress files. Just remember to save things before shutting down or *POOF* all gone. Essentially, I use use it as a scratch pad
NOTE: I will add that I'm on a laptop so I battery backup. If on a desktop, UPS is recomended

ElSid,
I did not understand if in the RAMDisk you save (temporarily) only the .sm file or if you have to put for example a portable version of the SMath.

update 17/02/2020:
I tried to save the.sm file to a ramdisk, but I didn't measure any processing time benefit

Run it Twice or more ...
Ram disk runs everything at the speed of Ram to the interface with the processor. The initial load up is a bit faster than SDD drives. Essentially, once it's loaded, it's already in memory so you avoid the I/O. I'm not as sophisticated as some of the the sheets you and others have posted, but I'll open several calcs and re-run the numbers ... speed is really fast, especially the ones that create the data dumps (read write data). Search the benefits of RamDisks, others are more eloquent than I. I know gamers with oodles of RAM will install their games on a RAM drive to speed up the gaming experience and the fps

As it looks, both of you are telling your own truth, is it ?

Jean I tried your file on both normal disk and RamDisk the calculation time is equal to 30 seconds.
Anyway I thank Elsid for the report as the use of RamDisk is useful to send us temporary files and save some life to SSD disks.
sergio

I specify that normal disk = SSD disk (on my PC)

Thanks Sergio ... I was on knees !
For sure, for gamers, faster chasing flies with a riffle than with cannon.
First time Smath runs a document it piles down in vector,
2nd time is faster then constant.
± 30 sec = same
Conclusion: RAMDISK does not apply to Smath and similar.

... not clear what the project should produce ?
Presumably => concentric circles for RGB image
maybe for exporting data set ?

As interpreted ... ?
1. You can have as many rings as desired, sizes as well.
2. It may be profitable to transit/spool to file.
3. You may have in any Web colors from otherwise construction ?
4. Rectangle may be added ?

2 confirmations:
1. Spool to file YES for recovering from other document.
2. Web colors YES from code ... somewhat greedy !
