Thanks, Basile PS. Can this be extended to have an automatic Table of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables, and List of Equations?

You can start from any paragraph pointing the value of the variable '§, for example from paragraph six is: '§:mat(5,1,1) For paragraph 1 use zero as starting value. Yes, I it's possible automate the TOC, but I don't know how to catch in the SMath document the page number, so, I can do that but manually adding it. Index at the end of the attached. BTW, why don't you use formatted labels? Automatic%20numbering%20sections%20book%20v3.sm (41kb) downloaded 45 time(s).

I don't use formated labels because I want only to show how get automatic numbering into several SMath documents with native SMath tools. Without any doubt with formated labels it will looks great.
