Thanks Davide for the WS.

"assume" is often needed as well as "real".
The most common is "allvalues". It expands
the more general RootOf.

I'm still trying to get the hand of this software. I'm an e.e. undergraduate and would like to be able to perform the something like the mathcad at the end of this post. I did try to input a similar syntax but I'm too much of a noob to work it. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

The post shows a trasfer function solved for the poles and zeros... It looks like you have to know how many poles and zeros to solve for before getting going. That would require putting the transfer function in standard form I'm somewhat sure.

All documents attached are in Smath 6179, should work same imore recent version(s).
The Smath/Maple companions of this year [2018] work a bit different than Mathcad 11 [2003].
At the end, all attached documents work for me Smath 6179 same as my former Mathcad 11.

Here's an example of how one might attack it.

Basile, mon ami, you need a new pair of glasses !

Just code as the snippet, it will gladly work for Basile.

Cheers ... Jean

Jean,
Until I get my new pair, I see that a dot appears after the F(s) when I type a comma.
Any diagnosis?

From the menu tool bar up top work sheet:
Tools => Options => Interface => Arguments separator [period, coma, semicolon]

After doing my best to incorporate sMath into my University workload for the past 6 months. From my magnetism class to my analog circuits class here at the University of California at Santa Cruz but it has been my experience that for every line of code I write that I generate many more while trying which are unproductive. I think the efforts made on this program are exemplary and I've donated $10 but I think unfortunately I will not be able to continue with it due to the learning curve being so steep.

People have done some amazing things with it that I can't even begin to follow but I haven't been as successful. Perhaps as I become more competent I might be more successful but for now I think I will unfortunately have to hang up my hat gentlemen... I bid you a respectful adieu for the time being kind Sirs...

Thanks Alvaro for your dedication,

Does syntax error 6179, but does not to where it complains.
Don't worry, OK like this.
The 2nd example is lot more involved, correct [sanity MCD].
