Hi, I was trying to understand how to use the numerical integration with the Simpson and Trapezoidal method. I could also explain the difference between the two methods, based on an example found in the forum. I also applied the numerical integration to found the flow rate of a pump during the start up and shut down processes, which is useful to some degree for many engineers. Hope it help, Kind regards, romberg_integration_exmple.sm (38kb) downloaded 21 time(s). romberg_integration.sm (31kb) downloaded 19 time(s).

Trapeze suits better certain functions vs Simpson. The converse is true: Simpson fits better certain function vs Trapeze. Romberg/Simpson kernel is a much different story. It converts the range of the variate of integration [0 ..1] Last example: Trapeze better than Simpson ... poor vs ∫kernel. Cheers ... Jean. Integral COMPANION Trapeze.sm (37kb) downloaded 15 time(s).
