Ther are some buil-in function. I suggest add new category "user function", where user cann define own function. It would be helpful, even if SMath users cann share new functions thru forum.
kind regards

Stanley has a great sugegstion here. I am not sure how easily this could be implemented into the programming, but if there could be some way to add additional mathematical functions it would be great. On a forum one could share these, but some kind of quality control will be needed to make sure no nonsense is used.

There are plenty of additional features I can think of (chemical engineering background), but I am not sure what the intention of this software is. It is very useful and I use it frequently nowadays for simple calculations. There are a few things that would be nice (not sure if they have been mentioned before) such as:
1. Ability to import matrices (set of data) from excel or another spreadsheet format. Data is typically stored in such format for most people and copying data from excel to smath for further processign would be great.
2. Some curve fitting functions. Again, not sure if this is the intention. There are several other programs available, but it should be easy to implement even the most simple curve fitting functions. That should really add serious value to this software.
3. I can only open xmcd files on desktop format, but have not been able to open older mathcad files which still had the mcd format.
4. Perhaps forum members can create a Wiki site (or html or other format document) where useful examples are compiled. I am especially thinking around practical examples used typically in engineering.

To Smath, thanks for this great software and for the frequent updates. The recent added ability to print already proofs useful. PS. What does Smath stand for? Is it an acronym for something?

0) True. Idea (user-defined functions) is very interesting, thank you. Will implement then;
1) Will do;
2) It's a hard thing, but I want it to be implemented in SMath Studio, too. Will see...
3) Unfortunately *.mcd file-format not documented. That's why I can't understand how to parse it myself, sorry;
4) This will be great, really. I had create Samples sub-forum here for such examples. So if you have some usefull examples I will be much obliged, if you'll post it there;
*) SMath means just a Simple Math.

I'm not sure what curve fitting you're thinking about, but simple curve fitting (least-squares) shouldn't be too tough.

I have two suggestions that might make usability a little easier.

a) Customizable (and more Good) shortcuts - pretty self explanatory, I am a huge fan of using the mouse as little as possible.

Cool I don't know how familiar you are with latex, but being able to enter symbols/formulae via simple latex expressions (ie: \alpha = \frac{1}{\theta} ) would be really nice Good. I'm not sure how tough this would be, though.

EDIT: Oh, also:

c) This may be different for math people, but as an engineer I am very accustomed to typing powers of 10 with the scientific? notation: ie, 5e-4 instead of 5*10^(-4). It makes entry faster and all the other math programs I use interpret it this way (instead of e = exp() ), so I just automatically type that way. It would be neat if smath could behave similarly, although I don't know how many other people feel the same way.
