I can't drag an area across a page break. Is this just me?

Thanks!

Thanks!

This is a very old behavior. There is no SMath Studio version where it was possible to move collapsed Areas by mouse (and without glitches).
The workaround is to expand an Area first, select and then move it or set cursor above the collapsed Area and press Enter/Backspace on the keyboard.

Not a bug. I've disabled it to avoid glitches many years ago.

Best regards.

I did a poor job describing the problem. Try this:

Create a new smath file. Add some content so that it is at least 2 pages long.
Now create an area on the first page. Expand the area. Now select the bottom line of the area. Click and drag it down. Try to drag it all the way to the next sheet. I cannot cross the "page break" when dragging. However, if I drag it to the bottom of the page, I can hit enter (or return) and it will "push it" over the page break. I can then drag it to the bottom of the page and again hit enter. The reverse is also true. If you try to drag it up a page, I can't cross the page break. However, if I use delete or backspace it will bring the line across the page break.

Thanks for the responses.

Since at least SS 6179
1. If you have region(s) above an area
2. if you select those regions,
3. if you press enter/enter/ ... to push down regions
4. they push down embedded in the area
So, by automated reflex, we never do that.
Copy those regions, plug them below area.

Update: I can't drag anything across page breaks.
Meaning if I click and drag anything I can't move it across a page break (note that I do have headers).

I should note that this was not the behavior in the prior version.

Just checking in to see if there have been any updates on this. Or maybe it is logged as a bug?
Thanks!
