By directly I mean you can't copy a jpeg or tiff file. You need to open it with something like Paint and then copy and paste to SMath. I was able to copy a photo from Paint and Word to SMath, no problem.

If you want to insert a picture into the SMath page, just resize it in some other picture managing software to the size you need.
