Greetings all over the world!

I'm an old user of assisted mathematical programs. The first contact with SMath Studio I had in 2012, when I downloaded 0.93 from the internet. Long time I was not interested in using it because I was a user of the powerful MathCAD professional programs. But recently I was out of license, but at the same time I was left without the money to buy another one. So I have become interested in using a more up-to-date free version of SMath Studio, in order to publish my technical-scientific articles on the Internet. However, I can not use any of the latest SMath Studio variants. I downloaded version 0.98.6528 today, but I can not open it with my windows VISTA. My question is, what free license version can I download to open it with this windows? Thank you in advance for your interest and help.

Hello,

SMath Studio is free and there must be a reason you could not open it. I suppose you have Microsoft .NET Framework installed because SMath need it. If you used the recent Mathcad versions (version 14, 15) you had to install .NET Framework. Anyway, just try to explain what happened when you tried to run Smath. Did it installed properly, are there any error messages when you tried to open it etc.

Regards,
Radovan

Hello. Probably to be very concise, I did not make it clear. Using windows vista, I can not open the package for installation.

If you mean opening the main .msi file ( SMathStudioDesktop.0_98_6528.Setup.msi) there might be a problem of running this type of file on your computer. you could also try the portable version by Martin Kraska . Just have to unzip it and run the SMath Studio .exe file.

Radovan

Like me => PTC resigned the Mathsoft Macrovision, thus all Mathcad 11
Single User Edition legal owners got zapped
Jean got zapped May 30 2015 15:30 [precise enough !]

Not completely dead, my technician made a back2back on a spare XP Pro.
Thus, XP Pro does not come with f...n Macrovision, my MCD 11 still
working except NONE of the Extension Packs.

That said, Smath stable 6179 works charmingly well on Win 10.
You will drop dead [hope not], how much Smath can replace Mathcad.

"Samples" is where I plug useful stuff re-coded from Mathcad 11
Lot of bed time reading !!!

Take the plunge with Smath and enjoy, happy new year as well.

Jean

@omorr: Thanks for the connection. It works.
@Jean Giraud: I thank you for encouraging speeches. I hope your superlatives at SMath Studio will prove to be just that.
All the best
