Portable version with Maxima updated. Eventual library changes so far do not interfere with the Maxima plugin. Due to the fix of SS-194 all users of the portable distribution with Maxima are advised to upgrade. |

Tipp: Another way of using SMathStudio with Linuxafter quite some trial and error I finally managed to get SMathStudio running under Wine. This seems to improve the appearance and some other inconveniences of using SMathStudio with mono are overcome.
sorry no attachments possible I'll give it another try. see: new postEdited by user 27 August 2014 17:47:45(UTC)

sorry no attachments possible I'll give it another try. Cool Can I suggest you to open a thread in the Project discussing section, making a detailed step-by-step guide? Thanks for sharing this! P.S. in this thread you can add images just using BBCodes ( hosting the files in the wiki, or using an external service) Edited by user 27 August 2014 20:59:04(UTC)

All three solvers can handle units and are documented in the interactive Handbook. Please give an example of what you want to solve. |

After updating to this version, none of my "if" functions are working. I get the following error: "Method not found: 'System.String Smath.Manager.UnitInfo.GetCurrentUnitName(System.String)'." Anyone else have this issue? Edited by user 04 September 2014 03:10:09(UTC)

Anyone else have this issue? Please update all the plug-ins using Extensions Manager.

The interactive handbook has been updated after a major review in order to fix wrong and missing german/english translations (there were lots of them). This was triggered by Henri Girard starting a french translation (some pages are already translated). Upgrading is strongly recommended, as I had to touch nearly every other file. |

Well a simple example from MathCAD would be. guess F:=1 given P=F/A F:=Find(F) where P and A are known. Regards.

Hello Andre, Any news on when the official portable version will be re-introduced? I've been using Mkraska's unofficial version, but some items do not load on start up. I would love to see a portable version that falls under the portableapps.com format (for those of us using windows machines). Hope all is well. We have not heard from you in a bit Thank you ElSid

I have been using MathCad since 1995 for engineering calculations. It is a great program and cost only $99 at the time. Now of course it is way too expensive. I originally ran it on Win 3.1 and Win XP. Even when I switched to Mac OSX 10 years ago I was still able to run MathCad under the Wine application CrossOver. I also use a PC at work and MathCAD worked fine until my new computer ran Windows 8.1. Being a 16-bit program no luck with running this program on my PC now.
Enter SMath, runs great on Windows 8.1, almost the same commands as my old MathCAD. Now I want to run SMath on my Mac running Snow Leopard. There are a lot of stuff on the web and in this forum on doing this via Mono but I honestly could not get it to run.
Can anyone give me some help on this?

HI guys. Could anyone tell a linux noob how to install this? I tried to download and install it from the download page but I can't install it.
Using Lubuntu 14.04 btw.
Thanks for any replies.
P.S. I didn't know where to put this question because there was no forum for installing.

Then you can download the SMath version Desktop Linux (desktop computer with Linux OS), unzip the archive where you want, and finally it is possible to launch the executable using mono.
